MOYA DYRING (1908-1967)
Bush Fire Country Near Heidelberg
pastel on paper
signed lower right: Dyring
47 x 35 cm

Estimate $600 - $800

Sold for $500

Part of the early Heide circle, Moya Dyring was among the first painters in Melbourne to respond to the influence of Cubism, living much of her life in Paris. Her influence on the modernist scene in Melbourne and her role in the circle surrounding John and Sunday Reed at Heide has been overlooked, and like so many women artists of her generation, her place in history is only just being recognised.
