HUGH RAMSAY (1877-1906)
Portrait of a Woman 1905
watercolour on paper
signed and dated lower left: Hugh Ramsay / 1905
32 x 23cm

Estimate $2,500 - $3,500

Sold for $5,250

A light abrasion to the surface, affecting the pigment is seen upper left (in subject's eye area). Very light and consistent abrasions to the paper are feathered throughout, none, however are affecting the paint as all have occured outside of the subject on the paper (bar the earlier mentioned). Paper has yellowed with age. Paper is most likely glued down to the backing board. Work is well framed.
