Lot 109

A rare Type IIa Natural Fancy Purplish Pink diamond ring
The pear cut diamond weighing 0.79cts mounted in a rose gold rim within a border of small round brilliant cut white diamonds of high colour and clarity to a split diamond set shank, all in 18ct white gold, ring size L-M.

Accompanied by GIA report no. 1122360263 dated 4 August 2010 stating the 0.79ct diamond is fancy purplish pink, natural colour, clarity grade VS1 together with a DCLA diamond report, IGL report and independent valuation.

This stone is classed as a natural type IIa diamond by DCLA and IGL. Type IIa diamonds contain no measurable amounts of nitrogen, making up less than two percent of gem diamonds. They are the most chemically pure and often have a rare transparency. The purplish pink diamonds constitute only one percent of all type IIa pink diamonds making this an extremely rare occurrence.
