Loamm Hartshorn, wagon painter, enlisted on 15 August 1862 as Corporal of Co. 'I' 12th Regt. New Hampshire Infantry and was later promoted to Sgt., 1st Sgt. and then 2nd Lt. in May, 1865. He was involved in every battle involving the 12th Regt. apart from Gettysburg, when he was injured. He was discharged on 21 June 1865 and died on 22 June 1890, aged 62 years.
