Oliver Keese joined 118th Regt. as Lt. Col. on 21 August, 1862, aged 32 years. He served at the Siege of Suffolk, Antioch Church, Bentons Cross Roads, Dix's Peninsula Campaign, South Anne's Bridge, Wistar's Expedition against Richmond, Smithfield and the siege operations in the trenches at Petersburg. He was discharged for disability on 16 September, 1864 and pensioned in 1886. He died on 24 January, 1889, aged 59 years.
