tintype with gild embellished tin mount, mounted on card; and various documents including:
- Discharge Certificate, 17 June, 1863
- letter dated 23 June, 1916 from Dixon to the Commissioner of Pensions requesting 'proper blanks' for he and some of his comrades that he thought were eligible to receive the $10 per month pension available to holders of the Congressional Medal of Honour who had reached the age of 65 years, signed
- a response from the Adjutant General explaining that members of the 27th Maine were not eligible as they had earned their medals 'not in actual combat with the enemy'; and Dixon's pension
- Dixon's Pension Certificate, 5 May, 1914
and a collection of related research material on Dixon including copies of army and pension files and regimental history (a lot)
