Lot 240

A RARE AUSTRALIAN CARNIVAL GLASS 'KIWI' SALAD BOWL IN AMETHYST
Of circular form with circular spread foot and lobed rim, embellished with kiwi and ferns, 22cm diameter and 12.5cm high.

Notes: The 'Kiwi' bowls are the rarest of the master bowls to find. They were made to celebrate the Great Exhibition to be held in New Zealand. When the exhibitions were cancelled the bowls were withdrawn from sale, but not before a few were sold. The Kiwi is the only non Australian flora and fauna depicted on master bowls.
