A NEPALESE BRONZE/BRASS JAIN SHRINE
The seated Tirthankara in the centre under a canopy and accompanied by worshippers, with hands folded in dhyana mudra. Inscription to the back. With traces of puja, 17cm high.

Provenance: Private collection Sydney.

Notes: Jainism is one of the oldest religions in the world and originated in India in the 5th or 6th century BC. It developed from Brahmanism, just like Hinduism and Buddhism.
