MEIJI PERIOD 19TH CENTURY

Sumptously framed in Japan, two Kimono samples from an early and high quality swatch. The first a marriage theme with Manchurian cranes, clouds, water and two elaborately embroidered minogame (symbols of longevity and said to carry the mythical land of the immortals, Horaizan, on their backs). The second a traditional Sansui scene of mountains, huts and pine trees with gold embroidered highlights.
