Lot 173
(The Grinder)
oil on canvas
66 x 56cm
Estimate $1,500 - $2,500
The work has some minor losses, most notable in the upper left and lower right sections. The work displays surface dirt and cracking throughout as with age.
Under UV light there are signs of multiple minor areas of repair. The work also bears an old varnish throughout which has somewhat dirtied the pigment. A professional clean would likely strengthen the colours and definition of the painting.
