Lot 104

WILLIAM FRATER (1890-1974)
Portrait of a Woman
oil on canvas
inscribed verso: W. FRATER
31 x 41.5cm

Estimate $2,000 - $2,500

Sold for $1,600

Work bears uneveness in the canvas but is stable due to the painting verso. There are there punctures seen along the lower corners of the canvas, possible due to previous framing. Small losses are seen in the upper left hand side also possibly caused by previous framing. General dust and surface imperfections are evident on work. Painting verso has made the canvas fairly brittle and solid on touch. Work is well framed.
