Printed at Omega Graphics, New York, in collaboration with Bernard Reitkopf, and published by the Letter Edged in Black Press. They published six issues of an innovative artists magazine known as S.M.S., (short for Shit Must Stop) in 1968. Issues of S.M.S. arrived to subscribers in printed boxed envelopes that contained a folio loaded with art from participants like Meret Oppenheim, Yoko Ono and Bruce Nauman. Lichtenstein's hat was included in issue #4 with works by Hollis Frampton, John Cage, Bob Stanley and others.
