Untitled (abstract calligraphy)
Ink on paper, canvas, wood
Consisting of two panels of paper joined in the centre, laid on a stretched canvas, the black ink abstracted calligraphy applied with both brush and cloth, with a rare early red seal mark for Walasse Ting applied to the centre of the work.

Paper is laid down with glue onto a canvas stretcher. The paper is darkened/browned - either from natural oxidation or through the darkening glue. Tear through the paper and canvas backing to the top left hand corner. A repaired tear in the top section of the left-hand panel. Various marks which could be water damage. Small marks and stains throughout.
