Joey Balliro's work Kiljoy is reminiscent of a cartoon cell, the figure staring the viewer down with nonchalance, poised and ready for action.

Joey Balliro is an emerging artist working in digital media. A devotee of gaming, he is a digital native and uses Twitch streaming, artstation.com, Apple product releases and general online culture to inform his work. Utilising new technologies to support his practice, he uses digital drawing as a means to position himself within online communities, forums and digital aesthetics. A figurative and narrative-based artist, he renders his heroes in such a way that they fit within an edgy urban context.

Balliro joined Arts Project Australia in 2020 and his first exhibition with Arts Project Australia is in our 2020 Virtual Gala.
