Untitled exemplifies Beavis' practice, the linework bleeding into the surface creating a soft, gentle composition.
Desmond Beavis is a printmaker whose abstract works are studies of architecture fragmented into grid-like compositions. He is interested in exploring images and patterns of houses in Ndebele, Africa; predominantly with drypoint and subtle pastel colour contrasted by bold, ink outlines, his experimental mark-making sees an interesting placement of elements on the page.
Beavis has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2004 and held his first solo exhibition in 2000 and has exhibited nationally with his works held in private collections throughout Australia.
