Lot 908
LATE 19TH CENTURY
The serpentine back, arms and seats raised on os de mouton supports, covered in floral cut velvet
104cm high, 107cm wide, 80cm deep
Estimate $1,500 - $2,500
generally in good condition; there is some looseness on the joints between the crest rail and wings and therefore some movement in the back itself (but not so much as to affect normal use); the frame shows typical minor wear, consistent with use; there are a few old worm holes scattered around the supports and stretchers but no evidence these are recent; the fabric remains in good condition, excepting a few (cat related?) pulls to the back.
