A ROYAL COPENHAGEN 'FLORA DANICA' PORCELAIN DINNER SERVICE
FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY

Each piece hand painted with botanical specimens, within painted and gilded borders and serrated rims, the Latin titles of each specimen to verso.
Comprising twelve dinner plates, twelve entree plates, twelve bowls, twelve side plates, twelve coffee cans and saucers, twelve pot-de-creme cups with covers and stands, three large platters, two small platters and two sauce boats with underplates. Green factory mark to verso with the three blue wave symbol.

Chocolate pots: A 10mm chip to edge of one lid visible to underside. Some minor isolated losses to encrusted flowers.
Dinner Plates: All dinner plates ring sound when tapped, with the exception of one plate with significant restoration to one half of the border. Several losses to the serrated rims have been noted in particular to four plates, the largest approximately 5mm in width.
Soup bowls: all ring sound; two with chips to the foot rim approximately 2cm in width respectively; isolated chips and retouching to the rim in places throughout; one bowl with a fine yellowed glaze hairline to the topside and underside of the rim.
Sauce boats and underplates: overall good order with expected losses to applied floral bocage
Coffee cans: No noticeable faults
Coffee can saucers: Thirteen in total including two (pattern no. 3512) lacking a serrated edge, each ring sound when tapped with the exception of one saucer with an irregular crescent-shape glaze hairline to one quadrant visible from above and the underside. Isolated losses and retouching to some borders, in particular two saucers with repairs to the border approximately 2cm wide
Entrée plates: All plates ring sound when tapped, several losses to the serrated rims have been noted in particular to five plates, the largest measuring approximately 1cm wide.
Butter dishes: One plate has significant restoration to an area of its outer edge, another has a 20mm long chip to its edge and another smaller chip to the edge, both pieces are still present with the dish, a third dish has apparent retouching to the gilding along the serrated edge.
Three large platters: one with a chip to the underside of the rim approximately 1.5cm wide x 1.5cm deep; one with an area of repair to the serrated rim and a larger corresponding area of restoration to the white ground beneath the rim approximately 10cm wide x 5cm deep; the two small platters each with wall hanging hooks installed via a holes in the foot rim, held in place with a restoration media; one of the small platters with an apparent ground chip to the foot rim
Chocolate pot saucers: One has repairs to two areas along the outer edge, four saucers have small losses to the serrated edges, and one with an approximately 15mm chip along its outer edge.
General comments on condition to overall dinner service:
Accumulated residue associated with use.
Very minor glaze aberrations.
Light wear to painted decoration in places
Evidence of re touching to the gilding
