Late 19th century, probably by Butler of Dublin, in the Chippendale manner, each with an elaborate pierced and carved splat having scrolls, ribbons, oak leaves and acorns, the settee centred with a bird, the outswept arms carved with acanthus and terminating in mythical beast heads, flanking drop in upholstered seats, the apron carved with shells, foliage, flowers and scrolls, and centred with a shell and oak spray; the cabriole legs with shell carved knees terminating in hairy paw feet. In good condition with wear consistent with age and use.
Settee: slight separation to joins in back panels and two sections possibly replaced
Chair 1: slight separation to joins in back panel, small section of carving on rear seat rail missing
Chair 2: slight separation to joins in back panel, old crack to carving on right hand seat rail
