This work depicts abstract multi-coloured forms on a black paper background and is a stunning representation of his current work.
Chris Sahyoun's abstract works are sensitive in their build-up of patterned compositions and multi-coloured line work counters, with arcs and coloured swatches of ink mark-making over the bold acrylic background. The transparent washes, line and loose gestural brush marks create depth and space in the work, and the combination of various mediums applied over the top of paintings, including greylead pencil and charcoal, afford the works elegance and movement. Sahyoun has worked in the Arts Project Australia studio since 2012 and has exhibited in group exhibtions in Australia.
