"I spent several months documenting the lives of a small group of Tasmanians living with Acquired Brain Injuries. Mostly caused by stroke, accident of drug use. Acquired Brain Injuries result in a range of disabilities including memory loss and communication problems. Their homes are littered with remnants of their pre-injury lives, of which they have no memory. I was particularly drawn to Andrew, who suffered his injury when he was 15. Although he remains sharply intelligent, Andrew requires constant assistance and care, much of which comes from his ageing parents" (The Artist, 2010)
