NOTES
Jean Schlumberger visualized the 'Bird-on-a-Rock' brooch design in 1961 to display a large topaz. For the designer's 1995 retrospective at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Tiffany Diamond, a rare 128.54 carat Fancy Yellow diamond, was remounted into this iconic design. Subsequently the brooch was put on permanent display in the brand's flagship store on Fifth Avenue, New York. Today, amongst collectors, this seminal design is instantly identified with the Tiffany brand.
