VAN CLEEF & ARPELS DIAMOND 'MAGIC ALHAMBRA' NECKLACE
Composed of six variously sized geometric motifs pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds bordered by a beaded edge alternating between diamond-cut trace chain connectors, the small diamonds together weighing between 6.00 and 6.25 carats, mounted in 18ct white gold, length 425mm, may be shortened to 390mm, maker's mark, numbered, signed VCA for Van Cleef & Arpels.
Accompanied by a Van Cleef & Arpels soft case.
NOTES
Debuted in 1968, the Alhambra collection is adorned with quatrefoil motifs drawn from the royal splendour of Moorish architecture.
The four-leaf charms symbolise luck, health, fortune, and love, and are crafted in a range of auspicious materials. This diamond-set 'Magic' version is the most luxurious produced by Van Cleef & Arpels. It has become the emblem of the elite Maison, favoured by tastemakers and fashion icons of past and present including Princess Grace of Monaco in the 1970's (who owned several Alhambra pieces), Elizabeth Taylor, and more recently Reese Witherspoon, Mariah Carey along with the future Queen of the United Kingdom, HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales.
