Circa 1700, by Joseph Windmills, London, the eight day movement with passing half hour strike and repeater by Joseph Windmills, London, with silvered chapter ring, roman hours and arabic minutes, date aperture, the spandrels with cherubim; the domed case with giltmetal handle, the plain frieze with pierced fretwork panel, on bun feet.

- Escapement wheel, pallet and pin are later applied
- Escape wheel and pallet, Contrate pinion, Contrate wheel are later applied
- Key is new
- Case back lock later applied and in steel as opposed to the front door lock which is brass
- Case has had substantial restoration. For example door hinges (brass front, steel back) and the smaller opening for the dial at the case front where the dial is larger than the opening
- The movement is seated on a timber pad that is smaller than the base
- Top fret possibly later applied as the edges are not finished well
- Passing strike on the half hour, striking on the hour on two different bells

Joseph Windmills was made a Free Brother in the Clockmakers Company in September 1671 and became master of the Company in 1702 and attended until at least 1720, he was regarded as a prolific and highly skilled maker.
