The seal is carved with a square and upright form exuding a sense of solidity. Atop the smooth seal surface lies a coiled dragon, its body crouched in repose. The dragon's robust and agile form conveys a powerful sense of vitality. Though depicted in a resting state, it appears poised to leap into the air at any moment, embodying dynamic tension and balance. The seal face carved in relief with Yang Ping Zhi Du Gong Yin. This interplay of stillness and motion also symbolizes the inviolable majesty and sanctity of imperial authority.
明/清 十七世紀 和田黃玉龍鈕璽印
印璽又稱“寶”，代表著皇帝的無上權威和地位。中國歷代的統治者都十分重視寶璽的信徵作用，將其作為皇權的象征物。為維護統治秩序，這些印璽有著嚴格的等級制度，無論規格尺寸、鈕式形制、字體、印材，還是穿系在印上的綬繩的顏色，都有嚴格的規定，決不許有僭越之舉。正所謂“方寸之間，普天之權”，小小的印章寶璽中蘊含著中國數千年來文化的精髓，擁有傑出的藝術品位和審美價值，更是帝王治理天下的憑證，尊崇至極。
本品取黃玉為料，形制方正，質感十足，平整的璽背上置有一條踡曲身體伏臥於地的巨龍作鈕，身形矯健，極富力感，雖呈伏地靜止的狀態，卻仿佛隨時都會一躍而起，升騰上空，靜中有動，張弛有度，同時也象征著皇權不可侵犯的尊貴與神聖。
這枚龍鈕璽印原為美國古董商艾倫·哈特曼（Alan Hartman）的收藏之一。艾倫·哈特曼於1930年出生在紐約的一個古董商家庭，他對收藏古董的熱忱始終如一，在繼承家業後也是積極開辦藝廊收集來自全球各地的藝術品，與妻子一起成為世界知名的藝術讚助人，致力於建立起一個卓越無比的私人收藏帝國，其藏品種類之豐富、數量之龐大遠超常人想象。
