Comprised of three carved panels each decorated with incised lime-filled totemic motifs, black pigment accentuating the designs, the back with additional painted decoration, bound together with split cane bindings.

The shield is in reasonably good condition with some wear to the top edges, small losses to the white pigment throughout. The panels move but are securely bound together by the rattan ties. Dirt to some crevices and recessed sections, old splits to lower section of left hand panel.
