Styled in checkerboard pegamoid canvas (Vuittonite) over beechwood slats, with brass rivets, side handles with brass fittings, and a zinc-lined base. The interior label lists the Paris and London store addresses (1 rue Scribe, Paris, and 454 Strand, London) and notes prizes awarded at the London exhibitions of 1885 and 1890 and the Paris exhibition of 1889.
