A FRENCH AUTOMATON, GIRL WITH SURPRISE BASKET

The bisque-head child in a silk and lace costume, holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a ribbon attached to a covered basket in the other, the girl with blue glass eyes, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, all on a velvet covered plinth, when wound she turns her head side to side, nods, then she lifts her right hand to sniff the flowers, then opens the basket lid with her other hand to reveal a little hummingbird that flits about, music plays throughout
55cm high overall, the plinth 11cm wide, 13cm deep
