The movement apparently late eighteenth century with late Victorian modifications and additions striking on eight bells and a gong. the silvered and decoratively engraved brass Roman numeral dial with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture within foliate brass spandrels, the glazed hood with shaped top with brass finials and moulded cornices above flanking brass-mounted stop-fluted Corinthian columns, the trunk of typical form with a panelled door above the moulded plinth base on shaped bracket feet, variously ornamented throughout with blind fretwork, Classical motifs carved in relief, and moulded panels
