Lot 252

Mervyn Napier WALLER (1894–1972)
'The Flight'
Linocut printed in colours
Numbered 19 of 50, inscribed as title, and signed 'M. Napier Waller' in pencil in the lower margin

Estimate $800 - $1,200

Sold for $1,700

The area of the sheet visible within the mount appears to be in generally good condition consistent with age, slightly discoloured overall and with lines of light 'mount burn' close to the upper and lower sight edges of the mount (as visible in the first catalogue photo).

The mount is dirty and possibly foxed (and should be replaced).

(In preparing this report the work has not been examined out of its glazed frame.)
