A JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE AND COVER ATTIBUTTED TO NAMIKAWA YASUYUKI (1845-1927), MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The vase is decorated with spring flowers and a butterfly on cream ground, the opposite panel decorated with a young sapling, leaves, daisies and butterfly on a caramel brown ground.

A very similar jar is illustrated on page 110, JAPANESE CLOISONNE, Gregory Irvine, Victorian and Albert Museum, Far Eastern Series.

For a comparable vase signed by Kyoto Namikawa, sold at Sotheby's London, 3/11/2020, lot 128.

Overall in good condition, a few very minute areas to gilt which are consistent with age and use.
