Lot 217
Property of a Private New South Wales Collector
Designed as an articulated collar composed of three lines of Akoya pearls between gold spacers decorated to the front with an architectural motif centring a collet-set cushion-shaped pink tourmaline, set within a cushion-shaped mabé pearl frame, terminating in a similarly set pear-shaped pink tourmaline, mounted in 18ct gold, inner circumference 385mm, gross weight approximately 94.7 grams.
Accompanied by a facsimile Cooks Hill Galleries receipt numbered 6377, dated 22 May 1998.
Estimate $3,800 - $5,000
In our opinion, the cultured pearls are of creamy bodycolour with rose overtones, some naturally occurring blemishes and minor scratches seen on close inspection, the tourmalines are of reddish-purple hue with strong saturation and some minute natural inclusions.
The mounting displays minor scratches and scuffs commensurate with age and wear.
The necklace is of good workmanship with signs of wear consistent with age and use, not noticeable when worn.
Overall condition very good.
