Collection of Dr. Qi Sheo-Nan and Dr. Tao Zhongchen, hence by descent, ACT.

Dr. Sheo-nan Cheer (Qi Shounan, 1893-1974) was a distinguished Chinese physician, medical educator, and pioneer of modern internal medicine in China. Educated at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he served as Professor of Internal Medicine at Peking Union Medical College, became the founding dean of the Medical College of National Central University, and represented China at the inaugural World Health Assembly in 1948.

Dr. Tao Zhongchen (also known by her other name, Xun) was the wife of the prominent Chinese physician Dr. Sheo-nan Cheer (Qi Shounan).
She was a niece of Duanfang, the influential Manchu-Chinese politician, reformer, and art collector who served as a high-ranking governor and viceroy during the late Qing dynasty. Duanfang's ancestors were Han Chinese from Zhejiang with the family name Tao, who were later enrolled in the Manchu Plain White Banner, altering their surname to the Manchu-sounding "Tohoro".
