Exceptional quality and of tall oviform shape, with inlaid iro-e (coloured inlay) and silver hirazogan (low relief inlay) depicting a group of three Manchurian cranes, engraved feather details, 28 cm high
Note: in both Chinese and Japanese mythology, cranes were believed to live for 1000 years, and were a powerful embodiment of the wish for longevity and the wisdom gained through experience
