AN ENGLISH LONG CASE CLOCK
EDWARD RUNDELL, NORTON ST PHILLIPS, CIRCA 1710

The hood with inverted bell topped caddy with turned columns to the hood door. The trunk with full length door flanked by quarter reeded columns, standing on the base which has canted corners. Shallow plinth to front and sides of base. A 30.5cm square brass dial plate with wheatear engraved borders, applied silvered brass Roman and Arabic chapter ring with subsidiary seconds dial above centre arbour and calendar aperture below. Dial centre matted with ringed winding holes. The centre ring flanked with cherub and crown spandrels. The weight driven movement of one month duration striking the hours on a bell

Re-silvered and gilded dial. Seconds hand not original Holes visible to back of case. Losses to gilding on capitals on hood. Bell top possibly replaced. Working, not recently serviced or timed.
