Paper in stable condition with no signs of tears and creases. Although work has only been inspected from outside of frame the paper does appear to be glued down to the backboard. Very light blooming is evident on the center left hand side (running horizontally) down the edge of paper when inspecting close up.

Knight's success in the male-dominated British art establishment paved the way for greater status and recognition for women artists. In 1936 she became the first woman elected to full membership of the Royal Academy since its foundation in 1768, and her large retrospective exhibition at the Academy in 1965 was the first for a female artist.
