A GEORGIAN MARQUETRY INLAID CULTERY BOX & CONTENTS*
EARLY 19TH CENTURY

The serpentine case, trimmed with herringbone inlaid. The inlaid lid opening to reveal various cutlery compartments containing a part set of ivory handled cutlery, comprising a carving set, five main knives, six main forks, five entree knives and six entree forks.

Some losses and repairs to the herringbone inlay, and also to the rim of the lid. The veneer is lifting in places, the lid is slightly faded from exposure to sun, there is a crack to the back panel and left hand panel of the lid. Surface scratches and dents overall.
