In good condition consistent with age. The painting has been professional cleaned in 2019 by the Centre for Cultural Materials, Melbourne.
Minor indentation lines from stretcher bar visible from the front. Some marks and scratches to the frame.

Dora Serle studied painting and drawing alongside Jane Sutherland at the National Gallery School from 1895-1902.
This painting is likely painted around 1910 or prior, when Dora married Percival Serle.
