Boris Cipusev is a mid-career artist who works in pencil and colour fibre-tipped pen, utilising text as his device to create vivid drawings. Through his methodically constructed works, he transforms the 'noise' of his environment into symbolic and sometimes non-sensical plays on words that develop into unique sets of buzzwords. Perfect Surf 2019 was an obvious choice for the online auction, as we dream about trips to the beach in happier, warmer times. Cipusev has worked in the Arts Project studio since 2007 and been featured in numerous national and international group exhibitions including Melbourne now at the National Gallery of Victoria. He has work in the National Gallery of Victoria, as well as private collections Australiawide.
