Chris Mason is an accomplished mid-career artist who works across a range of mediums including painting, drawing, ceramics and sculpture. His practice involves extensive research and a meticulous approach, with a penchant for creating curvaceous female forms. In Power station with two voluptuous ladies and a helicopter with a big sign we see the signature ladies at the base of the work, one looking forward, one looking back. Beyond them the power station gushes pollution while conflicting signs proclaim the end of global warming in propaganda-like fashion. Mason has worked at Arts Project studio since 1997. He has presented in exhibitions in Australia and internationally. Collections include the National Gallery of Australia, State Library of Victoria and National Gallery of Victoria. His work is held in private collections worldwide.
