The rectangular top with carved scalloped front corners, above two top drawers and three graduated drawers, all with broad crossbanding and fitted with cast brass escutcheons and drop bail handles, standing on bracket feet

The chest has repairs and restoration troughout, its condition is best summarized as consistent with age. There are signs of old bora, the handles and escutcheons may be later and the lower pair of handles are slightly different to the others
