In this artwork we see Lacono's bold, sweeping gestural mark making, the thick paint holding the sketched, colour filled shapes in the centre of the piece.
Thomas Iacono is an emerging painter and digital media artist exploring subject matter ranging from sport to interior domestic dwellings and streetscapes. In his digital media practice, he employs dynamic soundtracks and playful drawings with compartmentalised, textural frame-by-frame elements that render the animations with vibrant life, as if they are morphing shape. His paintings and drawings are infused with bold, gestural qualities often developing from the desire to document everyday events and personal narratives.
Iacano has been working at Arts Project Australia since 2010 and has exhibited annually since this date. His work has been selected for a number of group exhibitions at Centre for Contemporary Photography, Linden New Art and Arts Project Australia in Melbourne.
