The minimal lines and sweeping movement of this work by Jesse Paris creates a graceful balance on the paper.
Jesse Paris is an emerging artist who is testing new ideas and currently enjoys working with fineliner and pencil on paper. His love of tattoo illustrations and rave music informs his work, resulting in collections of abstract shapes and patterns inspired by Samoan tattoos. He uses a dip pen and brushes to make contemporary ink drawings and sketches from historic patterns and shapes.
Paris has worked at Arts Project since late 2019 and has exhibited annually at Arts Project Australia.
