A VERY RARE CHINESE AMBER-GLAZED POTTERY 'DRAGON' RHYTON CUP, TANG DYNASTY (618 - 907)
of horn shape, the curled dragon head terminal issuing a bifurcated foliate scroll joined to the side of the pointed oval mouth of the vessel, the rounded sides molded with petal-scroll motifs on a granulated ground, covered in yellow galze.

See Bonhams London, 11 May 2021, lot 63 for a similar yellow glazed rhyton cup with a duck form.

An almost identical dragon cup is currently in the collection of the Bristol Museum, U.K. Three other related sancai rhytons see Henan Provincial Museum Collection; Shaanxi History Museum Collection; Sotheby's New York, 13th Sep., 2017, lot 76, sold for 516,500 USD.
