A FRENCH MUSICAL AUTOMATON, MARQUISE WITH LORGNETTE

Wearing silk Marquise fashioned costume in the 18th century style; holding lorgnette in one hand, and a bouquet of flowers in the other, the bisque-head doll with blue glass paperweight inset eyes, white-blonde mohair wig, carton torso and legs, bisque forearms, standing upon a cut velvet covered plinth, when wound, she turns her head side to side, raising both hands, lifting her lorgnette to her eyes, while music plays, with original paper tune label to underside of base, the bisque-head marked 'DEPOSE / TETE JUMEAU'
