Lot 150
Second half 18th century
The rectangular top with moulded edge above three frieze drawers with panelled fronts, raised on square cabriole supports to the front
82.5cm high, 176cm wide, 51cm deep
Estimate $800 - $1,200
Structurally sound and well presented in good, previously restored condition.
Both rear supports are spliced-in replacements, both retaining the outer sides of the original stiles at frieze level.
There are shrinkage gaps between two of the boards forming the top and at some edges around the panels to the sides.
The top has been repolished; other surfaces retained a more natural, less polished patina. There are scattered old worm tracks to surfaces throughout and old worm holes to the backboard. The pulls are old replacements.
