The bowl is crisply and delicately potted as a flower head within five petals, covered overall with a pale olive-green glaze. With a fitted box.
The form and glaze colour of the present bowl were inspired by the famous "mi se" (secret colour) bowls produced at the contemporaneous Yue kilns. A similar floral-form bowl is illustrated in Beauty & Entirety - Ceramics of the Song Dynasty from The Palace Museum, Museum of Art in Macau, 2012, plate no. 99.
18cm diameter
Estimate $20,000 - $30,000
