GILLES MARTINOT, PARIS, CIRCA 1710
Of religeuse form with tortoiseshell and brass inlay. The top of the case surmounted by four gilt urns enclosing a cushion moulded galleried top. The arched gilt brass trimmed door flanked by gilt brass garlands draped down the canted front corners. The fully glazed door decorated at its base with an applied decorative gilt mount of Louis XIV's head with a sunburst top. The rectangular moulded base supported on gilt brass feet of upper female forms with scroll bases. The dial with enamel plaque numerals and blue steel hands. The month duration, two train, going barrel movement with verge escapement, striking the hours and half hour on a bell. Back plate with engraved Gilles Martinot a Paris
