The book cover of incised red lacquer with a Buddhist triple gem to the front. The inner surface extensively inscribed in both Chinese and Tibetan within a flame mandorla on a lotus base.

Damage and restoration to the edges of the inner cover with the inscription. Multiple damages to the outer surface, particualrly around the edges. Similar damges to the other cover, with more substational restoration to the interior. Both covers with binding holes plugged with wood. The inscription itself and mandorla surrounding are in largely good condition.
