A GEORGE PRIOR TRIPLE CASED SILVER AND TORTOISESHELL VERGE WATCH FOR THE TURKISH MARKET
Brass full plate verge movement, chain fusee, pierced and engraved balance cock, pierced hybrid pillars, silvered regulator movement signed 'Geo Prior, London' and numbered 34748. The plain silver inner case hallmarked London 1808 Richard James. The white enamel dial with black Turkish hour markers, black outer minute divisions with Turkish five minute markers, blued steel beetle and poker hands. Dial signed 'George Prior, London'. A plain silver hinged case, silver and tortoiseshell outer case with stud decoration with a heavily engraved outer case decorated with traditional middle eastern designs, silver fob chain and key.

Minor age-expected surface wear to silver. Very faint flecks and scratches to porcelain face. Glass in excellent condition. Silver case 6.5cm diameter with minor rim wear. Tortoiseshell case 7.5cm diameter in excellent condition. Outer case 8.5cm diameter in good condition with only age-related wear, including a few very minor dimples and deterioration to the silk lining. Overall, in very good condition with no visible signs of repair or damage.
