For The Day We All Went Home, we've included Melbourne-based contemporary artists who have collaborated with Arts Project artists over the years. The artwork James, created by Richard Lewer and Eden Menta in 2016, was the result of a collaboration for the exhibition Telltale, as part of Next Wave's Emerging Curator's Program. Richard and Eden ignored the curatorial brief for the most part. They created an incredible body of work that was "all in, text people, images - it all becomes part of the work." The collection, many of which have already sold, included self-portraits, other artists and studio staff, as well as text and titles that reflected negative statements commonly made toward marginalised people. Richard Lewer is an established artist, who received the Basil Sellers Art Award in Melbourne in 2016. He is represented by Sullivan+Strumpf, Sydney; Hugo Michell Gallery, Adelaide; and Suite Gallery, Auckland. Eden Menta is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist who, in 2019, was invited to show with Janelle Low as part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. She has worked at Art Project since 2013.
